We have now resumed our walks programme. However we still have to observe caution in relation to the pandemic guidelines.

Only those who have pre-registered can join the walk.  Registration closes at 6pm the day before the walk.

Numbers are limited.  All walkers must carry their own hand sanitiser and face covering.  Face coverings are worn only when necessary.

Please check the website, Facebook, twitter or contact the leader for any changes to the programme nearer the date of the walk.  We will only walk in groups according to Welsh government guidelines at the time of the walk.

GOWER COAST PATH 7: CWM IVY TO HILLEND    WALK CANCELLED 

Saturday 9th January 2021

Meet at 10.00am at Cwm Ivy car park (SA3 1DE SS 4396 9351). A circular walk from Cwm Ivy to Hill End passing Hill Tor and Blue Pool on the coast path and returning through Llangennith and around Llandmadoc Hill. Part 7 of a series of 17 walks around the entire Gower section of the Wales Coast Path.  A moderate 7.5 mile walk with approximately 1000ft of total ascent, returning by 3.30pm.

PARC CWM CIRCULAR  WALK CANCELLED

Meet at 10.30am at Parkmill roundhouse, near Gower Heritage Centre, for a moderate 6 mile circular walk through Parc Cwm and up to Penmaen Burrows returning via Three Cliffs valley.

GOWER COAST PATH 9: MEWSLADE TO OVERTON   WALK CANCELLED

Saturday 30th January 2021

Meet 10.00am on the side of the road to Pilton Green Farm (SA3 1PE, SS 4466 8714). A circular walk covering Mewslade to Overton on the coastal path. Passing Ramsgrove, The Knave and a number of promontory forts before heading inland at Overton.  Part 9 of a series of 17 walks around the entire Gower section of the Wales Coast Path.  A moderate 7 mile walk with approximately 700 ft of total ascent, returning by 3.00pm

GOWER COAST PATH 10: OVERTON TO SLADE  WALK CANCELLED

Saturday 13th February 2021

Meet at 10.00am at Horton Bay car park (SA3 1LQ SS 4737 8558). A walk out to Port Eynon Point, around the coast to Overton Mere and over the back of Port Eynon to Slade before returning to Horton. Points of interest include a walled sea cave, the Gower Society commemorative monument and numerous examples of Gower stiles. Part 10 of a series of walks around the entire Gower section of the Wales Coast Path.  A moderate 6 mile walk with approximately 900ft of total ascent returning by 3.00pm

SCENIC LLANDEILO WALK CANCELLED

Saturday 20th February 2021

A walk around scenic Llandeilo - woodlands, a castle and open parkland.

Take the Heart of Wales train to Llandeilo. Current timetables show this train departing from Swansea at 9.30am and Gowerton 9.41am arriving in Llanelli 10.05am.

Morning coffee in Llandeilo. A 5 mile walk with either 650 or 700 feet ascent and descent. 

Return from Llandeilo at 17.12 - journey time 1 hour.

The train times may be different in 2021 and if it is not possible to use the train, we can drive.  However, car sharing can only happen if safe.  If this walk cannot take place due to restrictions, and travel problems, a local Gower walk will take place.

GOWER COAST PATH 11: SLADE TO OXWICH  WALK CANCELLED

Saturday 27th February 2021

Meet 10:00am at Oxwich Bay Car Park (charge) (SA3 1LS, SS 5013 8651). A circular walk around Oxwich Point stopping to explore the remains of WW2 Chain Home Low Radar Station before heading inland at Slade. Returning to Oxwich via Hangman's Cross.  Part 11 of a series of walks with approximately 900ft of total ascent, returning by 2.30pm.

PENCLAWDD  WALK CANCELLED

Sunday 13th March

Meet at 10.00am at the seafront car park between Penclawdd and Crofty (SS 534 957) for a 6 miles moderate walk. Coming from Gowerton, go through Penclawdd; as you leave the village the car park is on your right just after the entrance to Graig y coed and opposite Graig y coed playing fields.  We walk over the Graig, with views over Loughor Estuary, then take a circular route through Morlais Valley.  It maybe muddy!

Meet at 10.00am  at Oxwich Bay Car Park (charge) (SA3 1LS SS 501 865). A circular walk through Oxwich and Nicholaston Burrows towards the eastern flank of Cefn Bryn and Penmaen.  Returning via Little Tor, and Oxwich beach passing a well preserved Lime Kiln. Part 12 of a series of walks around the entire Gower section of the Wales Coast Path.  A moderate 6 mile walk with approximately 700ft of total ascent, returning by 3.00pm
