Saturday 23rd September, PENNARD CLIFFS AND CASTLE
Meet at 10.45am at Pennard School/Library car park,( GR SS 554 883) for 8mile moderate walk.
It is possible to travel by Nr 14 bus from Swansea (9.49 from bus station)-due to arrive at 10.30, but please check timetable nearer the date. A scenic stroll along Pennard Cliffs, stopping at Pobbles beach and Pennard castle. Then onto Penmaen Church, Green Cwm and Parkmill. There are two steep climbs but the views are worth it.

Sunday 24th September CYMDU AND TALIARIS (CARMARTHENSHIRE)
Meet at 9:30am Cross Hands top end of Leekes Car park (GR SN 566 129) or 10:15am outside Cwmdu Inn, turn left at Halfway before Talley if coming from Llandeilo N.B. limited parking nearby so please share cars (GR SN 635 302) for an 11.5 mile moderate quiet country walk deep in the heart of rural Carmarthenshire. Starting in the tiny village of Cyndu near the historic pub, post office and shop, the route climbs uphill for great panoramic views. Later the circles Taliaris Park.

Saturday 30th September, OXWICH AND PENRICE
Meet at 10.30am at Penny Hitch (GR SS 493 882) for a 8.5m/14km moderate walk past two churches, two castles through woods, fields, sand dunes and cliffs. This walk has everything!

Saturday 7th October, PENCLAWDD & THREE CROSSES
Meet at 10:00am at Wernbwll Car Park (GR SS 554 946) for a 6 mile moderate walk.  Take road left of the Poundffauld in Three Crosses towards Blue Anchor. The car park is on the right, in about 3/4 mile, opposite a row of bungalows. We walk towards Three Crosses with views over the Loughor Estuary, and then pick up a section of the Gower Way before dropping down to the Morlais Valley on our return.

Saturday 14th October, CASWELL AND LANGLAND CIRCULAR
Meet at 10.00am at St Peter’s Church at the end of Mary Twill Lane GR SS 603878 for a 6 mile easy walk.  Parking on Brynfield Road, Langland Court Road, and Mary Twill Lane.  We will walk down Mary Twill lane over the golf course to Caswell, across the beach and along the cliff path to Brandy Cove, before visiting old industrial remains in the nearby field and then inland into Bishopston Woods to Pwll Du, before heading back to Caswell and Langland on the cliff path.  Possible coffee stop at Langlands Brasserie before walking uphill back to the cars. Can be muddy in the woods.

Sunday 22nd October, RHOSSILI DOWN & WORMS HEAD

Meet at 10:00am in front of N T shop, Rhossili (GR SS 413 880). An easy climb to the north end of Rhossili Down via the Mewslade valley for fine views. Back to Rhossili and out over very uneven ground to Worms Head and return. 10 miles, strenuous.

Saturday 28th October, MUMBLES HILL
Meet at 09:30am at Langland Corner (GR 609877).  Walking boots.  Expect some muddy paths. A hundred yards up Higher Lane.  Right, onto a footpath which goes west and south of Higher Lane and Beaufort Avenue, joining the main path from Langland to Limeslade.  Follow path east for several hundred yards.  Left, and up to the higher level path (superb views) and follow it to Limeslade.  See Bracelet Bay and then get onto the path up to Mumbles Hill and the radio mast. Superb view of Swansea Bay from map ref 625874.  Follow path to Thistleboon Drive, Plunch Lane, Western Close, footpath to Overland Road and thence back to Langland Corner.  Bring a thermos.  If we go slowly, this is an agreeable two hours.

See how the scenery of Rhossili Down and the adjacent coastline has been influenced by its geological history, revealed by its rocks and landforms. Includes Rhossili, Fall Bay, Mewslade and Paviland. A moderate 10 mile walk.

Sunday 19th November, NEOLITHIC AND MEDIEVAL GOWER
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 9:30am Green Cwm car park in Parc le Breos (GR SS 538 896). From Swansea pass through Parkmill and turn right just beyond the Gower Heritage Centre. The car park is 1/3 mile. A walk through the medieval deer-park and up the Gower Way to Arthur’s Stone, along Cefn Bryn and down to Penmaen Burrows with its medieval village, then back up to the meeting place. Easy going with only one steepish ascent. Route might have to be altered if the stepping-stones are covered. 12 miles moderate.

Up the valley to Abergreggan, climb up Cwm Creggan to a wind farm, over to Cwm Bleanpelenna and back via the Mountain Centre.  Generally on good ground with some great views if weather permits this time! 13 miles, strenuous.

Sunday 14th January KILVEY HILL and LOWER SWANSEA VALLEY
Meet at 9:00am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923). We will walk through the Marina before ascending Kilvey Hill for superb views over Swansea. After descending to visit industrial copper manufacturing sites we return over the east side of the hill. 11 miles strenuous.

Saturday 20th January, PENLLERGARE: AN OLD SWANSEA ESTATE
Meet at 11:00am at Penllergare Valley Woods car park for a 5 mile easy walk (from the Penllergaer roundabout J47, take the eastbound A48 signposted Llangefelach and Morriston and after 200 metres, turn right into the road signposted ‘Penllergare Valley Woods’).  There are no stiles.  There is likely to be mud in certain areas.  The PVW Cafe will be open at the end of the walk.

Saturday 10th February, PENMAEN AND CEFN BRYN
 Meet in Penmaen at 09:00am just over (so north of) the cattle grid at map ref SS 532 887.  Gum boots or walking boots.  Outward half has some muddy patches.  Walk west along the foot of Cefn Bryn between open common and the farmland and houses of Nicholaston.  Get to the elevated granary opposite Penrice Home Farm (the last 300 yards on the main road) and turn right, away from the road.  Walk north through Hayes Wood and up to the ridge of Cefn Bryn. Back along the ridge, eastwards to the start.  Allowing half an hour for a packed lunch, it is four hours.  Superb views in all directions.

Meet at 11:00 am at the bus stop in Felindre GR SN 637 027, for a 6 mile walk from Felindre village through fields and woodland, visiting the Upper and Lower Lliw reservoirs. We will follow part of the Gower Way, and will see how the area has been used to provide resources for the community during the last centuries.

Saturday 24th March, LLANDOVERY AND MYDDFAI
Catch the Heart of Wales train from Swansea at 9.15am or Gowerton at 9.26am (later stations could be busy. This is the last week of the concessionary travel so bring your bus pass.  If under 60, groups of 4 or more can buy a group day return).  A moderate 7mile walk from Llandovery through woodlands and valleys to Myddfai where hot drinks can be bought – but bring a packed lunch.  Return by a different route in time for tea at the Llandovery Station café and the 4.36pm train home.  Check train details nearer the date but don’t use the Heart of Wales website, it is often out of date.

Sunday 25th March, AMMANFORD TO LLANGADOG
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 9:00am Ammanford Railway Station (park on roads near station), (GR SN 624 147). From Ammanford we use lanes and paths with views of Carreg Cennen Castle then join Beacons Way to the Iron Age fort, Carn Goch. We descend to Llangadog for a meal at the Goose & Cuckoo (but check with leader first). The last train is 7.00 pm, so we can’t dawdle on the walk. Bring money, bus pass and dry clothes if rain is likely. 14 miles and 1900 ft ascent.
