Saturday 8th April, PENMAEN CIRCULAR
Meet at 10.00am at the NT car park  (GR SS 533 888) for a 5 mile circular walk to Perriswood via Cefn Bryn, then down through Crawley Woods and back to Penmaen.

Meet at 9:00am Cross Hands Business Park between Co-op and Leekes (GR SN 566 129) for a 11.5 mile strenuous walk. We will take the Coastal Path to Freshwater East then paths and lanes to Pembroke and it’s Castle. We join the Coastal Path to Pembroke dock. We will be able to have a meal there before catching the 7:00pm train (bring a torch) but for those who need to be back early there is an earlier train (4:33pm Pembroke, 4:25pm Pembroke Dock)

Saturday 15th April, GOWERTON CIRCULAR
Meet at 10.00am at Gowerton CP near Commercial PH B4295 (GR SS 592 963) for a 5 mile moderate walk to include part of the Gower Way, Dunvant Brickworks, over to Caergynydd Colliery Stack, Waunarlwydd and return to Gowerton.

Saturday 22nd April, A WALK IN MID-GOWER

Saturday 29th April 2017, CLYNE IN BLOOM
Meet at 10.30am at Clyne Gardens Car Park. (No charge in the section of the car park for Clyne Gardens) GR SS 618 905. Turn from Mumbles Rd in front of Woodman Inn, Blackpill.  Turn right into car park and park in one of the designated bays. Parking is also available in the park at the bottom of Derwen Fawr Road. The 2B and 3A buses stop on the Mumbles Road opposite the Woodman Inn. A 6 mile walk around Clyne Gardens and the Country Park.  We can expect a spectacular display of Azaleas, Rhododendron and Bluebells in bloom.

A 17km 850 metre climb and strenuous walk to ascend the area’s most popular mountain via the Taff Trail & Beacons Way. Return to Craig Cerrig Gleisian via Tommt Bell’s Monument and Fan Frynych.

Sunday 14th May, CERI AND BRYN ARW
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 8:30am between the Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 10:00am at Abergavenny Park Road Fairfield Car Park (free) NP7 (GR SO 299 145) for a 12.5 mile 1500ft ascent. A strenuous circular walk taking in two ridges of Abergavenny, crossing open moorland and passing through oak woodland. There will be stunning views and we see Coed y Cerrig national Nature Reserve.

Meet at 10.00am at Tredegar Fawr Farm GR SS 632 997 for a two to two and a half hour farm walk and talk. Access is from the A48 between M4 junction 46 (Llangyfelach) and M4 junction 47 (Penllegaer). The visit will start with coffee and biscuits and a talk by the leader, followed by a walk around the 100 acre farm. There will be much to see including specimen trees, landscaping and historical and geological details. The walk will finish off with a glass of wine and a chance to eat your picnic lunch.

Sunday 21st May, HAFOD ESTATE

Meet at 9:00am Cross hands between Co-op and Leekes (GR SN 566 129) or 10:30am Devils Bridge/Pont Rhyd y Groes B4574: Hafod car park near church SY25 6DX (GR SN 768 737) for a 9 mile moderate woodland walk that will take us through the Hafod Estate near Devil’s Bridge.

Sunday 28th May, BURRY HOLMS

Meet 10:00am Llanmadoc: Cam Ivy Car Park (GR SS 439 935) for an 11 mile strenuous walk along the cast to the end of Burry Holms for lunch. Through Hillend, Llangennith and over Llanmadoc Hill for the best views on Gower. On to Cheriton back via the stepping stones and Betty Church’s Wood for a pleasant Gower walk ( a moderate walk but marked as strenuous due to it’s length).

Sunday 11th June, TALGARTH

Meet at 9:00am between the Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 9:50am at the Afon Argued Centre (GR SS 821 950) for a strenuous 12 mile walk. We’ll go over to and along Cwm Blaenpelenna, pass Twyn Pumerw to God-knows-whereon St. Illtyds walk, South to Cwm Cregan and home. I’ll make sure there are 3 or 4 good climbs!

Saturday 29th July, CEFN BRYN FROM THE NORTH
Starting at 10:00am outside Llanrhidian Church (GR 497 923) for a 4 hour walk ascending Cefn Bryn from the north, traversing the ridge to Fairyhill and on to Landimore, returning along the marsh to Llanrhidian.

Meet at 10:30am at Upper Killay Recreational Hall, Fairwood Lane – (GR 585 927) post code SA2 7HQ. Parking nearby – also adjacent to 118 bus stop). A short easy circular walk of 3.5 miles (though there are a few stiles) on the outskirts of the city but little known, even to people who have lived locally all their lives. We will see varied woodland, two lakes (one of which is the largest expanse of fresh water on Gower) and cross over a golf course during the walk. We will have the option of stopping for coffee at the Wildflower Café part way through our walk (or bring a picnic to consume nearby). Whilst the route is on mainly good paths, it may be uneven underfoot in a few places so sturdy footwear is required.

Saturday 2nd September, MYNYDD Y GWAIR ARCHAEOLOGY
Meet at 11.00am at the Upper Lliw Reservoir pull in (GR SN 672 065), off the Rhyd y Pandy mountain B-road from Morriston Hospital to Betws/Ammanford – look for Welsh flag flying! Join archaeologist Charles Hill for a short, largely moderate walk on the disputed, northern border of the Lordship of Gower. We will visit an important prehistoric ritual site, walk the remains of a Roman(?) road and examine the site and history of Penlle’r Castell, the highest medieval castle site of Glamorgan. We will also be able to view the new windfarm at Mynydd y Betws and see the state of construction of the Mynydd y Gwair windfarm.

Saturday 23rd September, PENNARD CLIFFS AND CASTLE
Meet at 10.45am at Pennard School/Library car park,( GR SS 554 883) for 8mile moderate walk.
It is possible to travel by Nr 14 bus from Swansea (9.49 from bus station)-due to arrive at 10.30, but please check timetable nearer the date. A scenic stroll along Pennard Cliffs, stopping at Pobbles beach and Pennard castle. Then onto Penmaen Church, Green Cwm and Parkmill. There are two steep climbs but the views are worth it.

Starting in the tiny village of Cyndu near the historic pub, post office and shop, the route climbs uphill for great panoramic views. Later the circles Taliaris Park.
