Sunday 3rd December DARRAN VALLEY
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 9:00am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 10:00am Parc Cwm Darran (Parking charge – Daily ticket £3 per car) (GR SO 113 034). A walk over Cefn Gelligaer and return via a section of the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway. 10 miles, moderate.

Sunday 10th December, AFAN ARGOED
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 8:30am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 9:20am Afan Argoed Centre car park (GR SS  821 950). Up the valley to Abergreggan, climb up Cwm Creggan to a wind farm, over to Cwm Bleanpelenna and back via the Mountain Centre.  Generally on good ground with some great views if weather permits this time! 13 miles, strenuous.

Saturday 16th December SOUTHGATE AND PARKMILL
Meet at 10:45am at NT Southgate car park (charge) GR SS 554874 for a 6m/9km walk along the river to Green Cwm returning via Lunnon.  Avoid the crowds out Christmas shopping on this easy walk past Three Cliffs Bay!

Sunday 14th January KILVEY HILL and LOWER SWANSEA VALLEY
Meet at 9:00am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923). We will walk through the Marina before ascending Kilvey Hill for superb views over Swansea. After descending to visit industrial copper manufacturing sites we return over the east side of the hill. 11 miles strenuous.

Saturday 20th January, PENLLERGARE: AN OLD SWANSEA ESTATE
Meet at 11:00am at Penllergare Valley Woods car park for a 5 mile easy walk (from the Penllergaer roundabout J47, take the eastbound A48 signposted Llangefelach and Morriston and after 200 metres, turn right into the road signposted ‘Penllergare Valley Woods’).  There are no stiles.  There is likely to be mud in certain areas.  The PVW Cafe will be open at the end of the walk.

Sunday 28th January, THREE MYNYDDS AND A TOR

Meet at 9:30am Lower Lliw Reservoir down past café (GR SS 650 034). A circular mainly through open access land around the Lower and Upper Lliw Reservoirs. 16 km (10 miles), 500m ascent, strenuous.

Meet at 10:00am at Penmaen Rose Cottage car park GR SS 526884 for a moderate 8 mile/12km walk over Cefn Bryn to visit the huge Moormills sink hole near Broad Pool.

Sunday 4th February, BRECON BEACONS: LLANFRYNACH and FAN-Y-BIG
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 8:30am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 9:45am Meet leaders at Llanfrynach. Road outside church (GR SO  075 257). Circular walk around Cwm Oergwm taking in Fan-y-Big. 9 miles strenuous.

Saturday 10th February, PENMAEN AND CEFN BRYN
 Meet in Penmaen at 09:00am just over (so north of) the cattle grid at map ref SS 532 887.  Gum boots or walking boots.  Outward half has some muddy patches.  Walk west along the foot of Cefn Bryn between open common and the farmland and houses of Nicholaston.  Get to the elevated granary opposite Penrice Home Farm (the last 300 yards on the main road) and turn right, away from the road.  Walk north through Hayes Wood and up to the ridge of Cefn Bryn. Back along the ridge, eastwards to the start.  Allowing half an hour for a packed lunch, it is four hours.  Superb views in all directions.

Meet at 9:00am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 10:15am Pen Fforddgoch Pond car park off B4246 Blaenavon to Govilon Road (GR SO 254 107). Hill walk over Fan Llia and returning along Sarn Helen. 10 miles, moderate/strenuous.

Saturday 17th February, FELINDRE & LLIW VALLEY RESERVOIRS 
Meet at 11:00 am at the bus stop in Felindre GR SN 637 027, for a 6 mile walk from Felindre village through fields and woodland, visiting the Upper and Lower Lliw reservoirs. We will follow part of the Gower Way, and will see how the area has been used to provide resources for the community during the last centuries.

Sunday 25th February, VAENOR AND GARN DDU

Meet at 9:00am between Guildhall & Victoria Park (GR SS 643 923) or 9:40am car park behind Drovers Arms Merthyr Tydfil (GR SO 032 080). Valley and Moorland walk to the north of Merthyr Tydfil. Great views north towards Brecon Beacons and South of Merthyr Tydfil and beyond. 11 miles strenuous.

Meet at 10:00am at Cwm Ivy car park (honesty box) GR SS 440 935 for a 7m/10km walk along the coast path to Llangennith Burrows.  The return route is over Llanmadoc Hill.

Sunday 11th March, MYNYDD MALLAEN

Meet at 9:00am Cross Hands, Heol Parc Mawr (GR SN 568 128) or 10:00am Cwm y Rhaeadr Forest Car Park (GR SN 765 424). Walk over Mynydd Mallaen returning via Esgair Ferchon and Craig Lech Gwynt. 10.5 miles, strenuous.

Saturday 24th March, LLANDOVERY AND MYDDFAI
Catch the Heart of Wales train from Swansea at 9.15am or Gowerton at 9.26am (later stations could be busy. This is the last week of the concessionary travel so bring your bus pass.  If under 60, groups of 4 or more can buy a group day return).  A moderate 7mile walk from Llandovery through woodlands and valleys to Myddfai where hot drinks can be bought – but bring a packed lunch.  Return by a different route in time for tea at the Llandovery Station café and the 4.36pm train home.  Check train details nearer the date but don’t use the Heart of Wales website, it is often out of date.

Sunday 25th March, AMMANFORD TO LLANGADOG
(Joint with Swansea Ramblers)
Meet at 9:00am Ammanford Railway Station (park on roads near station), (GR SN 624 147). From Ammanford we use lanes and paths with views of Carreg Cennen Castle then join Beacons Way to the Iron Age fort, Carn Goch. We descend to Llangadog for a meal at the Goose & Cuckoo (but check with leader first). The last train is 7.00 pm, so we can’t dawdle on the walk. Bring money, bus pass and dry clothes if rain is likely. 14 miles and 1900 ft ascent.

Meet at 10:00 am at the entrance of the car park of the Beaufort Arms, Kittle for an approximately 3 mile walk to Ilston via Courthouse Farm. Hopefully we’ll see some spring flowers.
