Saturday 25thMarch. WHERE THE LINES USED TO END
At one time Swansea had more railway termini than any other town or city in Britain except London. The walk will try and explore where these were, as well as looking at the local industrial systems that were in place for many years. Meet outside Swansea Museum (GR SS 659 927) at 10:00am. Length of walk is 5 miles approx. After exploring the railway history around the museum green we’ll go up the Strand and Morfa Road passing High Street Station towards Landore. Then we’ll cross the valley, looking at transport for the copper industry before walking down the track bed of the old Midland Railway towards St.Thomas and looking for three more station sites before returning to the museum.
Leader Phil Andrew 01792-298329.
