Friday, 22nd March. AN EVENING TALK by Jo Mullett

Jo Mullett, Director of Knotweed Control Swansea, will discuss Wanted dead, not alive: an illustrated introduction to problematic invasive non-native species in the UK, with a focus on the Lordship of Gower. How they arrived, why they are so successful, control methods and crystal ball forecasting potential problem species.Talk to be held at Sketty Parish Centre, De-La-Beche Road, Sketty at 7:30pm

Friday 26th April. AN EVENING TALK by Brian Davies

Brian Davies will give a talk on Mumbles and Gower Pubs. His recent research investigates the history of the area’s pubs from backstreet locals to smart hotels, encapsulating much of the history and character of the area. We hope for a talk that will delight all lovers of ale and anecdotes.

Peter Douglas-Jones, the Gower Society’s official photographer, will give a Scenic Tour of Gower.

Friday 13th September. AN EVENING TALK by Andrew Dulley

Andrew Dulley, Assistant County Archivist, West Glamorgan Archive Service, will give a talk on William Crach: the man who lived. The true story of a Welsh rebel from Llanrhidian who joined in the rebellion of Rhys ap Maredudd in 1287. He was arrested and hanged, but came back to life…we’ve discovered the evidence in a subsequent investigation, which tells us a good deal about what life was like in medieval Gower.
